Jarad Prinkey
Department of Bioengineering, PhD Candidate
ACADEMIC HISTORY
Jarad received his BS in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001 and he earned a MS in Bioengineering in 2003.
CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS
- Using a treadmill locomotion interface for the BNAVE virtual reality system. Also a system for interfacing the treadmill setup with the modified Unreal Tournament software that was developed for use in CAVE systems.
- Development of a method and measurement system for determining the alertness of a seated individual based on sway analysis.
Some future research interests Jarad would like to look into include:
- Human/mechanical interface devices for control of systems
- Design of systems for human exploration of hazardous environments (i.e. space, deep submergence, etc.).
